Concert to feature holiday favorites from Rudolph and Sleigh Ride to The Polar Express and Handel’s Messiah
Guest conductor Carl Topilow (Cleveland Pops) returns to lead the Akron Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in the annual Holiday Pops concert, Friday, December 17, at the University of Akron’s E.J. Thomas Hall at 7:30 PM. From sacred anthems to beloved yuletide favorites, Holiday Pops will journey through the familiar and new in a celebration of the sounds of the season. Songs on the program include: What Child Is This, A Clarinet Chanukah, Oh Holy Night, Rudolph, The Christmas Song, Sleigh Ride, selections from Handel’s Messiah featuring soprano Paulette Penzvalto, and many more— topped off with an unforgettable sing-along finale led by Santa himself.
