Akron Symphony’s “Elms” Series Continues February 17
Diverse program to feature works by Eccles, Bartók, Gershwin, and Dvorak
Members of the Akron Symphony Orchestra and their friends will present an afternoon of chamber music at Our Lady of the Elms Chapel on Sunday, February 17. The 3:00 p.m. concert will showcase the talents of Ann Gilbert, Sue Yelanjian (bass); Michael Leamon (piano); Leslie Braidech, Amy Glick (violin); Lara Dudack (viola); and Greg Fiocca (cello). The duo of Gilbert and Leamon will perform Henri Eccles’ Sonata in G minor. Gilbert and Yelanjian will play selections from Béla Bartók’s Duets for Two Violins—arranged for two basses. The pair will then be joined by Michael Leamon for George Gershwin’s Slap That Bass. The program will finish with a performance of Antonin Dvorak’s Quintet in G major played by Braidech, Glick, Dudack, Fiocca, and Gilbert.
The chapel at Our Lady of the Elms provides a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, giving audiences the opportunity to get to know members of the ASO better through the intimacy of the performances.

Akron Symphony Presents Second Chamber Concert at Elms Chapel
November 11 concert to feature works by Brahms, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and Arutiunian
Akron–Members of the Akron Symphony Orchestra and their friends will present an afternoon of chamber music at Our Lady of the Elms Chapel on Sunday, November 11. The 3:00 p.m. concert will showcase the talents of violinist, Alan Bodman; clarinetist, Kristina Belisle; and pianists, Kim Bakkum and Robert Mollard. The duo of Belisle and Bakkum will perform Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Sonata for Clarinet and Piano; Bodman and Mollard will perform Brahms’ Sonata No. 2 in A. Bodman and Mollard will then be joined by Belisle for Alexander Arutiunian’s Suite for Violin, Clarinet and Piano.
The chapel at Our Lady of the Elms provides a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, giving concert goers the opportunity to get to know members of the ASO better through the intimacy of the performances.

Akron Symphony Presents First Chamber Concert of Season
Duos to present works by Mozart, Stravinsky, Saint-Saëns, others on September 30
Members and friends of the Akron Symphony Orchestra will present an afternoon of chamber music at Our Lady of the Elms Chapel on Sunday, September 30. The 3:00 p.m. concert is the first of four in the Sundays at the Elms series and will showcase the talents of violinist Linda Nagy Johnston with pianist, Brent Schloneger, and violinist Sara Rule Schaft with harpist, Jody Guinn. The duo of Johnston and Schloneger will perform Mozart’s Sonata No. 6 in G and Stravinsky’s Suite Italienne, while Schaft and Guinn perform works by Ravel, Ibert, Fauré, Bach/Gounod, and Saint-Saëns.
The chapel at Our Lady of the Elms provides a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, while giving concert goers the opportunity to get to know members of the ASO better through the intimacy of the performances.
