Concerts For Kids: Symphony Express

The Akron Symphony’s sell-out series, Concerts For Kids, returns in 2011 with Symphony Express, featuring the timeless classic The Little Engine That Could by composer Allen Feinstein, based on the children’s book by Watty Piper.

Concerts For Kids are 45-minute interactive concerts for children ages 2-6. Each performance features the Akron Symphony Orchestra led by Assistant Conductor Levi Hammer and narration provided by Magical Theatre Company.

Attention Educators!
The Akron Symphony Orchestra (ASO) offers a unique professional development opportunity (for educators of children Preschool through Grade 2) designed to enhance the annual Concerts For Kids experience. In this four-session professional development module, participants will explore, through hands-on activities, small group work, and multi-media presentations, the benefits of symphonic musical experiences on brain development, learning, and socialization.
