Jennifer Jones, Gospel Chorus Master
In her second consecutive year, Jennifer Jones currently serves as the Chorus Master for the 2010 Gospel Meets Symphony. She previously served as choir director for Grace House Christian Fellowship, Akron, OH; she currently serves as special groups’ coordinator and as a member of the music ministry team for Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Akron, OH.
Jennifer is a graduate of The University of Akron, Akron, OH; Ashland Theological Seminary, with a degree in Theology; and she is now pursuing a Masters Degree in music and worship from Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland, OH.
Jennifer has written and composed 30 or more songs (one of which was recorded by Ephraim [a gospel ensemble], entitled: “Victory” [1987]; and performed her first concert at the age of 17 (all original compositions). Jennifer formed a singing group called “Bread of Heaven” in 1989. Their signature sound consisted of tight intricate harmonies sung a cappella. Jennifer has performed as a guest soloist for The Akron Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday Pops (2009), First Night’s 1999 Celebration, and the dedication of the new Harold K. Stubbs Justice Center (February 1991). Her accomplishments include teaching at music workshops (50 to 100 voice choirs), 8 songs recorded with Fred Hicklin Productions (1993 – 1994), and background vocals for the Millennium Clock Tower Celebration Commercial with Mr. Charles Myricks (2000).
Jennifer, affectionately known as “JJ,” is the proud mother of two wonderful children, Joshua and Jazmin. She is a born again Christian woman, sanctified and anointed to sing God’s praises.
