Picnic Pops: American Roots, July 5

The Akron Symphony returns to Lock 3 for another unforgettable night of music under the stars.

This concert features the sophisticated stylings of Akron’s own Jack Schantz renowned jazz trumpet player, playing a rich mix of charts including a premiere of Porgy and Bess medley arranged by Paul Ferguson. In addition to Jack’s sets, the orchestra will play Porter, Ellington, Arlen, and our own Gospel Meets Symphony Singers will treat listeners to two favorites from our fantastic GMS collection. Something for everone, including a fab surprise ending….
