Wow – what a GREAT time I’ve had this year regularly attending ASO events. Our daughter joined Akron Youth Philharmonic this year and we’ve made good use of the complimentary passes to ASO.
My daughter and I attended Holiday Pops and eighth blackbird and I attended Michael Cavanaugh last night. Last night’s performance convinced me that I need to purchase an ASO package next season. I’ve had SUCH a great time watching orchestra members AND Maestro Wilkins bring music to life (Matt Dudack is our daughter’s steel drum instructor at Miller South; Lara Dudack is our daughter’s private violin instructor). I am particularly impressed with how much Mr. Wilkins seems to enjoy and appreciate the art and history across the entire spectrum of music – classical, contemporary, pop, gospel – it doesn’t seem to matter – he just enjoys it, does his homework and relishes being in the moment music is filling the air.
Thank you, ASO, for the treasure you are to the Akron and northeast Ohio community. I will be front row balcony next season – whether our daughter continues in AYP or not. See you again on March 5th!
