Join musicians (18+), many already involved in community bands, orchestras, church groups, chamber ensembles or other performing groups from Greater Akron and the surrounding areas, for a fast-paced weekend of interactive workshops and sectional rehearsals with professional musicians from the Akron Symphony, and larger rehearsals led by Maestro Christopher Wilkins, culminating in a concert performance conducted by Maestro Wilkins.

Musicians will begin and end each day with full group rehearsals, work together to explore various musical styles, engage in sectional rehearsals, and enjoy hands-on sessions. Participants will be able to select from workshop activities such as conducting with the Maestro, question-and-answer times with professional musicians, and even trying their hands at ethnic drumming (African or Steel drums). Each day’s schedule will be interspersed with free time to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
